Opening very soon in Campbell River is Flurer Smokery Ltd; a fully certified wholesale and custom processing plant specializing in Salmon and customer service. Watch for the announcement and details of the grand opening prior to end of the year here on eZABU and in local newspapers!
Brian and Kelly, the visionaries behind Flurer Smokery Ltd., met in high school in 1985 and married soon after. For the past 23 years they have been married and have 3 beautiful children. Brian has been in the aquaculture industry for 23 years working on the farms and in processing. Kelly has also been in the aquaculture industry for 7 years in processing.
For about 15 years the Flurer’s have been smoking fish at home for friends and family. Over the years they were told that their smoked salmon was the very best and that they should be selling it. Brian and Kelly are determined to take this advice and build a successful business around a great recipe, quality product, and attention to customer service. The recipe used was developed on the coast over many years and the flavor is truly West Coast.
Brian and Kelly are making their dream a reality. Our vision is to bring a true west coast flavor to the world. To provide the local people with the highest quality services and products.
At this time Flurer Smokery’s projected start is December 2009. Newspaper ads will announce the official grand opening. Flurer Smokery will be a wholesale and custom processing plant and will be HACCP certified. The plant will be open year round and will specialize in hot smoked salmon products. Flurer Smokery will use only premium grade farmed and wild salmon and will process whole fillets, chunks, and jerky, in original, peppered, teriyaki or what is more commonly called Indian candy. Customers will have the option to have bulk or vacuum packing. Flurer Smokery will process farmed or wild salmon.
Flurer Smokery is located at 5722 Menzies Way, in the industrial park just north of Campbell River. We will be setting up the office in November and will have the phone and fax at that time.
