Community Futures Strathcona participates in community led economic development activities that include strategic planning sessions, feasibility studies, infrastructure improvements, management of federal/provincial contracts and entrepreneurial training initiatives. Our purpose is to assist our community partners to develop and implement local solutions to local problems. Below is a list of the partners that we work with in order to provide the best environment for small business within our communities.
Western Economic Diversification Canada works to strengthen western innovation, business development, and community economic development through a variety of programs and services.
Campbell River’s Economic Development Corporation focuses on recruiting new businesses to operate and encourages existing businesses to expand. Rivercorp proudly administers Tourism Campbell River & Region, and the Campbell River Visitor Centre.
Comox Valley Economic Development Society
Comox Valley Economic Development assists existing businesses to grow, while working with potential investors and entrepreneurs to locate to the Comox Valley.
Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce
Since 1919, the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce has existed to meet the needs of local businesses and it has been an integral part of economic growth within its community.
Campbell River Chamber of Commerce
The Campbell River Chamber of Commerce promotes commercial, industrial, social and civic concerns of its community by leveraging the support, talents and resources of its members.
With over 900 courses and 70 credit programs in health care, trades, business, fine arts, tourism, and university studies, NIC offers the education and skills training needed to reach your education goal, with the flexibility and support to make it achievable.
Creative Employment Access Society
The Job Shop provides free assistance to job-seekers in Courtenay and the Comox Valley. They provide job search tips, help with resumes, cover letters and interviews, and prepare individuals to do their best in a competitive job market.
North Island Employment Foundation Society
Assists those in need with the development of skills that will enable them to find and hold employment.
Community Futures Development Association of BC
Promotes the services offered by the network of 34 Community Futures offices located in British Columbia.
